“Depression is teaming up with HIV to kill our queer trans people of color (QTPOC). The social stigma, the constant acts of discrimination, and the dehumanized media representations of homophobia from our own community causes an individual to descend into a state of depression where they no longer care about themselves, and are more at risk for contracting HIV as a passive form of suicide. If nobody else has told you, you are loved, you are valued, and your life DOES matter. Together we can help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.”
